Smithiantha ‘Pat’s Pet Impala’, 2006, IR06947, Gary Dunlap, MO. (S. ‘Sunshine’ x S. multiflora hybrid). Cross made Oct. 10, 2000, planted Dec. 11, 2000 and first flowered June 15, 2001. Reproducible only vegetatively. Erect, 30 cm tall. Leaves light green, hairy, 12 cm long x 10 cm wide, 5 cm petiole, orbicular with serrate margin, acute tip and cordate base. Calyx green, split, 6 mm long. 4 cm pedicel. Corolla salverform, 4.5 cm long x 2.5 cm wide, yellow, with orange dots on lobes and throat. Secondary stems are produced in the lower leaf axils that bloom at the same time as the terminal inflorescence. Available from Pat’s Pets.
