Smithiantha Melissa Ann

Smithiantha ‘Melissa Ann’, 2009, IR091121, Pat Murray, FL. Parentage unknown from T. Scaggs. Rhizomatous. Compact, erect growth habit. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Leaves mottled green, covered with fine burgundy hairy, reverse solid burgundy with light green veins, 10.5 cm long x 10.5 cm wide with 2 cm petiole, orbicular with crenate margin, acute tip and cordate base. Calyx light green, split, 1 cm long. Pedicel 2 cm with 10-15 flowers per inflorescence. Corolla salverform, 4.3 cm long x 2.5 cm wide, yellow outside, darker yellow inside with faint pink markings outside at base of petals.
