Sinningia Hector’s Pink Pride

Sinningia ‘Hector’s Pink Pride’, 2017, IR171366, hybridized by Wallace Wells, NY.   (S. unknown S. Saliba hybrid x S. unknown S. Saliba hybrid). Cross made in 2015, planted 6.30.2015, and first flowered 02.17.2016.  Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, miniature Sinningia growth habit. Leaves dark green, almost black, 1.5 in. long, 1 in. wide, with 0.25 in. petiole, orbicular with cordate base, crenate margin and rounded tip. Calyx split, dark green, 0.25 in. long. Pedicel 1.75 in. with 1-2 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform 1.5 in. long x 1.25 in. wide, upper 2 lobes rose, lower 3 light pink. Distinguished by bicolor flowers produced in large numbers. Very ‘stick-tite’; the flowers do not dislodge much at all and usually wither on the plant. Floral display lasts more than a week.
