Primulina GCCC’s Zhi Yi

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Zhi Yi’, 2023, IR231933, hybridized by Wen Fang, Wei Yi-Gang, Chou Wei-Chuen, Xin Zi-Bing; Guangxi Institute of Botany; CAS; GCCC, Guilin City, China. (P. ‘GCCC’s Jade Tablet’  x  P. macrorhiza). Cross made 06.17.2020, seeds planted 09.15.2020, first flowering 06.30.2022. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white veins, 11-12 cm long, 7-8 cm wide, 1.5-2 cm petiole, elliptic with acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, petalized, pinkish purple, length 40-45 mm. Length of the pedicel 2-2.5 cm, 2 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, calyx double,  6.5-7 cm long, 3.5-4 cm wide, pinkish-purple with yellow throat. This hybrid prefers brightly scattered lighting; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to pH ≥7.0); don’t over-fertilize and overwater.
