Primulina GCCC’s Qiao Zan

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Qiao Zan’, 2023, IR231943, hybridized by Wei Yi-Gang, Wen Fang, Chou Wei-Chuen, Fu Long-Fei; Guangxi Institute of Botany, CAS & GCCC; Guilin City, Guangxi, China. (P. sp. nov. (from Datang) x P. titan). Cross made 04.31.2019, seeds planted 09.15.2019, first flowering 05.05.2021. Sterile. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with white veins, 10-12 cm long, 7-9 cm wide, petiole 1-1.5 cm long, elliptic with an acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, smooth. Calyx yellowish-green, 10-15 mm long. Length of the pedicel 3-3.5 cm, 13 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 6-6.5 cm long, 5.5-6 cm wide, purple with two orange stripes on the throat. This hybrid prefers bright scattered light, moist, well-drained, calcium-rich soil with limited fertilization.
