Primulina GCCC’s Hong Yao Ji e

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Hong Yao Jie’, 2023, IR231937, hybridized by Zhang Shu-Shan, Wei Yi-Gang, Wen Fang, Chou Wei-Chuen; Guangxi Institute of Botany; CAS; GCCC, Guilin City, China. (P. sp. nov. (from Baise)  x  P. heterochroa). Cross made 08.11.2020, seeds planted 12.15.2020, first flowering 09.02.2022. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves dark green with large white reticulated markings, 7-9 cm long, 5-7 cm wide, 2-3 cm petiole, ovate with acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, prune color, length 5-8 mm. Length of the pedicel 2-4 cm, 4 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.5-5.5 cm long, 2.5-3.0 cm wide, yellow to purple gradient. This hybrid prefers brightly scattered lighting; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to pH ≥7.0); don’t over-fertilize and overwater.
