Primulina GCCC’s Fang Rui

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Fang Rui’, 2023, IR231962, hybridized by Xin Zi-Bing, Wei Yi-Gang, Wen Fang, Chou Wei-Chuen; Guangxi Institute of Botany; CAS; GCCC, Guilin City, China. (P. ronganensis  x  P. heterochroa). Cross made 05.12.2019, seeds planted 09.15.2019, first flowering 04.30.2022. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with obvious veins, thick, fleshy, pubescent both surfaces, 3-4 cm long, 2-3 cm wide, 0.5-1.5 cm petiole, elliptic with rounded tip, cuneate base, crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, length 3-5 mm. Length of the pedicel 0.5-1.5 cm, 15 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 1.5-2.5 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, yellow, purple flower tube. This hybrid prefers brightly scattered lighting; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to pH ≥7.0); don’t over-fertilize and overwater.
