Sinningia Fernwood’s Char

Sinningia ‘Fernwood’s Char’, 2011, IR111178 Lee Stradley, NY. (S. ‘Kristen’ x self). Cross made Jan. 2011, planted Mar. 2011 and first flowered  Oct. 2011. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Tuberous, compact upright growth. Leaves light green, 3.5 in. long x 2 in. wide, with 1 in. petiole, orbicular with crenate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. Calyx green, split, 0.75 in. long, pedicel 2.5 in. tall with 2 flowers per leaf axil. Corolla salverform, 1 in. long x 1.25 in. wide, white.
