Primulina Fantasy

Primulina ‘Fantasy’, 2023, IR231882, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Dayan Tao, Shikai Guan, Jinye Zhou; Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Nanning, China. (P. guizhongensis x (P. guizhongensis x P. leprosa)). Cross made 10.24.2019, seeds planted 12.10.2019, first flowering 10.29.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves strong yellow green with light white veins, 5.6-10.9 cm long, 3.3-8.1 cm wide, 5.2-9.0 cm petiole, elliptic to ovate with acute tip, cuneate base, serrate margin, bullate, hairy. Calyx split, light green, 5-11 mm. Length of the pedicel 1.5-2.5 cm, 2-9 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 1.9-2.0 cm long, 1.1-1.3 cm wide, brilliant purple. The plants require damp environment, but can withstand a degree of drought. Does not tolerate standing water. Although it grows best in shady conditions, it can tolerate direct sunlight.
