xAchimenantha ‘Diamond Lil’. 1966, IR66090, John F. Cooke, Jr. OH. [registered as xEucodonopsis] (Smithiantha fulgida x Achimenes grandiflora). Cross made Sept. 1960, first flowered 1961. Tetraploid obtained with colchicines. N=23, clone but true from seed, probably. Determinate growth. Leaves dull green, to 163 mm x 134 mm, hirsute, apices acute, bases cordate to truncate, margins coarsely serrate. Corolla tubular to funnel form . . violet purple, (RHS 733/1).
