Streptocarpus ’Deanie’s Dream’. 2004, IR04889, E. Underhill, CAN. (‘Bristol’s Tie Dyed’ x ‘Madonna’). Cross made Jan. 30, 2000, planted Aug. 25, 2000 and first flowered Mar. 27, 2001. Fertile but reproducible only vegetatively. Rosette. Leaves medium green, 8 ½ in. long x 3 ½ in. wide, elliptic with undulate margin, acute tip and cuneate base. Calyx split, green, ¼ in. long, 4 flowers per peduncle. Corolla salverform 1 ¾ in. long x 2 in. wide, medium violet with pink undertones, semi-double, with long, narrow extra petals cascading from throat onto the lower petals. (Looks like a jabot.) Received Best Canadian Origination in Show and Best New Gesneriad introduction at the May 4,2002 show. First commercial listing Violets in Vogue. 2002, CW 26-2, semi-double lilac with rather different extra petals that cascaded from the throat. Large white throat with veins of dark purple on the lower petals.”
