Seemannia Beulah Mae

Seemannia ‘Beulah Mae’, 2016, IR161340, hybridized by Brad Walker, TN  (S. gymnostoma S. ’239’). Cross made 09/01/2014, planted 10/18/2014, and first flowered 07/22/2016.  Fertile. Reproducible only vegetatively. Upright growth evenly spaced foliage. Erect stem length 12”.  Leaves green, 2” long x 1.25” wide with 0.25” petiole, hairy, elliptic with cuneate base, crenate margin and acute tip. Calyx split, green, 0.75”. Pedicel 2” with 1 flower per axil. Corolla salverform, 1.5” long x 1“ wide, hot pink with purple on the lobes with heavy black spotting, very striking contrast. .Bloom is similar to the seed parent, but in a different distinctive color. Free blooming with high rhizome production.
