Primulina GCCC’s Lianhua Tongzi

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Lianhua Tongzi’, 2023, IR231957, hybridized by Chou Wei-Chuen, Wei Yi-Gang, Wen Fang, Tan Ke; Guangxi Institute of Botany; CAS; GCCC, Guilin City, China. (P. lutvittata  x  P. jingxiensis). Cross made 08.23.2019, seeds planted 10.15.2019, first flowering 09.21.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves dark green, 6-7 cm long, 4.5-5 cm wide, 0.5-1 cm petiole, ovate with acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, prune color, length 3-6 mm. Length of the pedicel 2.5-3 cm, 24 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2.5-3 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, pinkish purple with faint yellow streaks in the throat. This hybrid prefers brightly scattered lighting; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to pH ≥7.0); don’t over-fertilize and overwater.
