Primulina GCCC’s Orange King

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Orange King’, 2023, IR231948, hybridized by Wen Fang, Chou Wei-Chuen, Wei Yi-Gang; Guangxi Institute of Botany, CAS & GCCC; Guilin City, Guangxi, China. (P. heterochroa x P. yandongensis). Cross made 09.09.2021, seed planted 11.30.2021, first flowering 10.25.2022. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves yellowish-green to green with white veins, 8-12 cm long, 4.5-6.8 cm wide, petiole 1-2 cm long, ovate with an acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, brownish-green to purplish-green, 5-8 mm long. Length of pedicel 3-4 cm, 10 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.5-5.0 cm long, 3.2-3.5 cm wide, bicolor flower with bright yellow lobes and a purplish-red tube. This hybrid prefers bright scattered light, moist, well-drained, calcium-rich soil with limited fertilization.
