Primulina GCCC’s Qiu Zhi Huo He

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Qiu Zhi Huo He’, 2023, IR231930, hybridized by Wen Fang, Chou Wei-Chuen, Fu Long-Fei, Wei Yi-Gang; Guangxi Institute of Botany; CAS; GCCC, Guilin City, China. (P. ‘GCCC’s Jade Tablet’  x  P. heterochroa). Cross made 09.15.2020, seeds planted 12.20.2020, first flowering 10.07.2022. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green with unclear to clear white veins, 7-8.5 cm long, 4.0-5.2 cm wide, 1.8-2.4 cm petiole, linear to elliptic with acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, yellowish green, length 5-8 mm. Length of the pedicel 2-2.5 cm, 12 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4-4.5 cm long, 2.3-3 cm wide, reddish to purplish orange with purple corolla tube. This hybrid prefers brightly scattered lighting; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to pH ≥7.0); don’t over-fertilize and overwater.
