xPrimucodon ‘GCCC’s Brightness Star’, 2023, IR231928, hybridized by Di-Ya Chen, Wei-Chuen Chou, Yi-Gang Wei, Fang Wen; Guilin University of Technology; Guangxi Institute of Botany; CAS; GCCC, Guilin City, China. (Primulina tiandengensis  x  Petrocodon asterostriatus). Cross made 06.09.2020, seeds planted 08.23.2021, first flowering 05.05.2022. Sterile. Basal rosette, stem length 3-8 cm. Leaves green, veins obvious, thick, coreaceous, glabrous both surfaces, 8-12 cm long, 5-8 cm wide, 5-13 cm petiole, ovate to orbicular with acute tip, cordate base, crenate margin, smooth. Calyx split, green, length ca. 10 mm. Length of the pedicel ca. 1 cm, 6 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 4 cm long, 1-1.5 cm wide, pale purple with dark purple stripes. This hybrid prefers brightly scattered lighting; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to pH ≥7.0); don’t over-fertilize and overwater.
