Primulina Qingdai

Primulina ‘Qingdai’, 2023, IR231918, hybridized by Jiajun Huang, Yazhi Liu, Meishi Xie, Guiyun Jiang, Huimin Deng, Yixun Yu, Juanxu Liu; South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, China. (P. guizhongensis  x  P. sinovietnamica). Cross made 06.12.2021, seeds planted 08.15.2021, first flowering 09.20.2023. Reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves greenish black a herringbone midrib on the leaf surface, orbicular with rounded tip, cordate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, green with purple tips, length 4-5 mm. Length of the pedicel 1.5-2.5 cm, 10-12 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2.5-2.7 cm long, 1.4-1.7 cm wide, purple. This hybrid is suitable for growing in a warm and humid environment, the most suitable growing temperature is 24-32℃.
