Primulina Teenage Girl

Primulina ‘Teenage Girl’, 2023, IR231894, hybridized by Shikai Guan, Jinye Zhou, Qian Song, Haixia Yan; Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Nanning, China. (P. guizhongensis    x  (P. guizhongensis x P. leprosa)). made 10.24.2019, seeds planted 12.10.2019, first flowering 10.18.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves moderate yellow green, 7.8-10.8 cm long, 4.3-5.9 cm wide, 3.5-5.3 cm petiole, elliptic with acute tip, cuneate base, serrate margin, bullate, hairy. Calyx split, light green, 5-6 mm. Length of the pedicel 1.2-2.1 cm, 1-4 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 1.8-2.0 cm long, 1.2-1.3 cm wide, reddish purple. The plant requires damp environment, but can withstand a degree of drought. Does not tolerate standing water. Although it grows best in shady conditions, it can tolerate direct sunlight.
