Primulina Lapsang Souchong

Primulina ‘Lapsang Souchong’, 2023, IR231863, hybridized by Yan-Ping Pang, Xue-Yan Hu, Jia-Qi Qin: GCCC (Shanghai); Shanghai Botanical Garden of China. (P. brachytricha x P. guizhongensis). Cross made 04.29.2019, seeds planted 06.09.2019, first flowering 10.15.2021. Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem length 1.5-2 cm. Leaves light green, turning red in high light, 5-6 cm long, 3.5-4.5 cm wide, 2-2.5 cm petiole, ovate with acute tip, cuneate base, serrate margin. Calyx split, green, 7-11 mm. Length of the pedicel 8-10 cm, 1 or more flower per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.4-3.6 cm long, 5.4-5.6 cm wide, purple. Prefers bright scattered light, relatively moist substrate, temperature range 8-35℃.
