Primulina CW’s Deepsea Dream

Primulina ‘CW’s Deepsea Dream’, 2023, IR231859, hybridized by Wei-Chuen Chou, Zi-Bing Xin, Fang Wen; Guangxi Institute of Botany & Gesneriads Conservation Center of China; Guilin, China. (P. papillosa x P. gongchengensis). Cross made 04.19.2019, seeds planted 07.23.2019, first flowering 04.17.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, ca. 6 cm long, ca. 3.5 cm wide, 2-5 cm petiole, with obvious veins, thick, fleshy, strigose both surfaces, ovate with acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, light green, ca. 8 mm. Length of the pedicel ca. 2.5 cm, 8 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, ca. 3.5 cm long, ca. 2 cm wide, light purple with two bright yellow honey guides. Prefers brightly scattered natural light; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to PH ≥7.0); do not overfertilize and overwater.
