Achimenes SRG’s Orange Orchard

Achimenes ‘SRG’s Orange Orchard’, 2022, IR221779, hybridized by Serge Saliba, Bucharest, Romania. (A. seedling HS-003-2009 x A. seedling HS-2009). Cross made 04.2010, seeds planted 01.2011, first flowering 08.2011. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Trailing habit, stem length 20-25 cm. Leaves light green, 4 cm long, 3 cm wide, 2 cm petiole, ovate, acute tip, cuneate base, serrate margin. Calyx split, green, length 4 mm, length of the pedicel 1.5 cm, 3 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3 cm long, 4 cm wide, double orange. Depending on the temperature color can change from orange to yellow orange. Great for hanging baskets.
