Episcia GV’s King Cobra

Episcia ‘GV’s King Cobra’ 2022, IR221709, hybridized by Gayathri Valsala, Kollam, Kerala, India. (E. ‘Silver Shield’ x E. hybrid). Cross made 07.03.2020, seeds planted 09.12.2020, first flowering 10.23.2021. Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem 12 cm. Leaves shiny black with pinkish silver veins, 15.5 cm long, 9.7 cm wide, 5.2 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute tip, crenate margin, bullate, smooth. Calyx split, brown, 12 mm. Length of the pedicel 5.5 cm, 3 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2.8 cm long, 3 cm wide, red(orange) with yellow dotted throat.
