Primulina Yutu

Primulina ‘Yutu’, 2021, IR211696, hybridized by Yuyang Lei, Haixia Yan, Jinye Zhou, Kai Li, Qian Song; Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences; Nanning, China. (P. hochiensis x P. papillosa). Cross made 01.04.2021, seeds planted 02.06.2021, first flowering 11.03.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 4.1-5.3 cm long, 1.5-2.5 cm wide, 1.4-2.1 cm petiole, ovate with cuneate base, acute tip, serrate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, 5-6 mm. Length of the pedicel 2.0-2.2 cm, 2 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.6-4.1 cm long, 2.0-2.2 cm wide, purplish. Low level scattered light is preferred. It has an excellent tolerance to drought and heat and a strong disease resistance.
