Primulina Hua Yuan

Primulina ‘Hua Yuan’, 2021, IR211576, hybridized by Haixia Yan, Qian Song, Shikai Guan, Guanghui He, Flower Research Institute of Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Nanning, China. (P. sclerophylla  x  P. macrorhiza). Cross made 04.02.2018, seeds planted 05.16.2018, first flowering 01.20.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, 13.1-16.2 cm long, 7.6-10.9 cm wide, 3.9-8.1 cm petiole, elliptic, with cuneate base, acute tip, entire to crenate margin, hairy. Calyx split, green to slightly brown, 0.7-0.9 cm. Length of the pedicel 2.5-2.9 cm, 20-28 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 4.6-5.1 cm long x 1.7-2.0 cm wide, pinkish purple. It likes bright light, but no direct sunlight. Does not tolerate waterlogged conditions.
