Primulina Yueding

Primulina ‘Yueding’, 2024, IR241980, hybridized Lin Mao, Sun Lina, Chen Er, Li Bing, Wu Jianyun, Tang Qiumin, Yang Shuting; Guangxi Forestry Research Institute, Nanning, China. (P. pungentisepala  P. subrhomboidea). Cross made 01.10.2019, seeds planted 04.23.2019, first flowering 01.15.2021. Fertile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, stem length 3-4 cm. Leaves GREEN GROUP 138 moderate Yellowish Green A, 11-14 cm long, 4.5-5.0 cm wide, 3.0-4.0 cm petiole, elliptic with acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, PURPLE GROUP N79 Dark Purplish Red B, length 7-8 mm. Length of the pedicel 1.4-1.8 cm, 4-6 flowers per axil. Corolla salverform 4.5-5.0 cm long, 2.8-3.5 cm wide, PURPLE-VIOLET GROUP N82 light purple C. Flowering abundantly January to April with long bloom stalks covered red brown hairs and sepals. This hybrid’s light and water requirements are not high, it prefers shade environment, strong sunlight will cause leaf burn.
