Primulina GCCC’s Bao Zan

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Bao Zan’, 2023, IR231973, hybridized by Chou Wei-Chuen, Wei Yi-Gang, Wen Fang, Tan Ke; Guangxi Institute of Botany, CAS & GCCC, Guilin City, Guangxi, China. (P. yungfuensis x P. sinovietnamica). Cross made 04.24.2020, seed planted 07.15.2020, first flowering 02.07.2022. Sterile. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, thick, fleshy, extensive light green markings, pubescent on both surfaces, 3.5-5 cm long, 2.5-3.5 cm wide, petiole 2-3.5 cm, ovate with an acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, pale green, 3-5 mm long. Length of pedicel 25-35 mm, 5 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 2-3.5 cm long, 1.5-2 cm wide, purple. This hybrid prefers bright scattered light, moist, well-drained, calcium-rich soil with limited fertilization.
