Primulina GCCC’s Ling Long

Primulina ‘GCCC’s Ling Long’, 2023, IR231961, hybridized by Wei Yi-Gang, Wen Fang, Chou Wei-Chuen, Fu Long-Fei; Guangxi Institute of Botany; CAS; GCCC, Guilin City, China. (P. purpureokylin  x  P. longzhouensis). Cross made 07.27.2019, seeds planted 11.17.2019, first flowering 06.17.2021. Sterile, reproducible only vegetatively. Basal rosette, acaulescent. Leaves green, thick, fleshy, pubescent both surfaces, 6-8 cm long, 5-7 cm wide, 1-2 cm petiole, ovate with acute tip, cuneate base, entire margin, hairy. Calyx split, green, length ca.5 mm. Length of the pedicel 3-4 cm, 30 or more flowers per axil. Corolla salverform, 3.5-5 cm long, 2.5-3 cm wide, purple with purple lines on both upper and lower lips. This hybrid prefers brightly scattered lighting; moist but well-drained & calcium-rich substrate (equal to pH ≥7.0); don’t over-fertilize and overwater.
